SOME COMMANDS YOU CAN USE TO ACTIVATE AN UPDATE Empty SOME COMMANDS YOU CAN USE TO ACTIVATE AN UPDATE

    Post  Peppies™ 14th March 2011, 10:10

Microsoft a while ago pushed an update which has put a serious bummer to all us pirates using the windows 7 operating systems. KB971033, as the update is known as is known to be a part of the WGA family of updates which are responsible to detect and disable pirated copies of the windows 7 o/s.

There have been various attempts made by various self proclaimed groups and techies who have tried to get rid of this malaise caused by Microsoft world wide.

Here is one set of commands i came across used to activate and de-activate this update.

    1. Force validation re-check

If your system has already been flagged as NON-GENUINE or blacklisted you can use the following command to force re-check which would take approx 3 to 5 mins to complete.

    %SystemRoot%system32WatWatAdminSvc.exe /run

Upon re-validate you may need to restart your pc for the nags to get rid and take effect.

    2. Delete WAT Registry entries:

WAT stores information in the registry including a machine ID, a UGUID, number of times validates, number of times validation failed. This info is sent over and over again to Microsoft when WAT tries to validate windows. Why not delete such info and minimise the risk of such info being sent. Use this command to do so.

REG DELETE "HKLMSOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWindows Activation Technologies" /f

    3, Uninstall update:

If for some reason you installed this update, you can easily uninstall it at command prompt. Before you do so, make sure that you do have a genuine key or crack put in which would make sure that you are flagged as genuine.

    For x86 only:

    dism /online /remove-package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Security-WindowsActivationTechnologies-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~7.1.7600.16395

    For x64 only:

    dism /online /remove-package /PackageName:Microsoft-Windows-Security-WindowsActivationTechnologies-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~7.1.7600.16395

You can enumerate the package name with:

    dism /online /Get-Packages |find "WindowsActivationTechnologies"

    Thats it, good luck guys
