Helpful Firefox addons Empty Helpful Firefox addons

This thread is for addons for the Firefox browser that you find particularly helpful. I am a big fan of Firefox because of its ability to support third party plugins and addons.

Please suggest any addons here you feel would be useful for users of SI, whether it be for the site or their overall browsing experience.

First up is the first addon I install as soon as I open Firefox for the first time: Adblock Plus. This addon allows you to block both Flash and image advertisements from any website on the internet. There is a public list of ad-supported websites that you can subscribe to which will automatically block most ads from popular websites. Definitely my favourite Firefox addon.

I will list the rest with brief descriptions, click the links to view more info.

    2. Download Statusbar - Tired of that download window popping up every time you start a download? This addon puts all of your active downloads into a bar just above your status bar in Firefox.

    3. Fasterfox - Performance and network tweaks for Firefox. Highly recommended!

    4. Greasemonkey - A user script manager for Firefox, allowing you to customize the appearance of many popular websites. Uses JavaScript.

    5. Smart Bookmarks Bar - Have too many bookmarks in your Bookmarks Toolbar? Iconize them to just show favicons, and even show text when you hover over those favicons.

    6. Menu Editor - Customize Firefox application menus. I love this one!

    7. StumbleUpon - Choose categories for your interests, and click the StumbleUpon icon to randomly select a website based on those chosen categories. I've found tons of cool sites this way!

    8. CoolIris - Transforms your browser into a full-screen 3D wall for searching, viewing and sharing photos and video.

Please share yours, I'd be very interested to learn about new addons!
