Running uTorrent in multiple instances
Sometimes you want to run separate clients for different trackers, you like your uTorrent very much, but you can run only one uTorrent client by default. This guide will show you how to set up uTorrent to run in multiple instances, each with own config file.
Fresh start
1.Download latest stable release of uTorrent from µTorrent - The Lightweight and Efficient BitTorrent Client
2.Copy or move the uTorrent executable to a new folder, where you want to keep first instance of uTorrent client. You can name the folder to reflect that, so you don’t get confused later.
3.Inside that new folder, create new file called settings.dat
4.Create a shortcut to uTorrent executable. After these steps you should have three files in your folder: uTorrent executable, blank settings.dat file and shortcut to uTorrent executable.
5.Now edit the shortcut and add /RECOVER after the path to the executable.
6.Run the uTorrent (using either executable or shortcut – doesn’t matter at this point) and set it up properly, preferences, limits etc. Exit uTorrent when you are done. Three new files will show up: settings.dat.old, resume.dat and dht.dat
7.To set up next instance you will need to create another folder. Copy the uTorrent executable and all *.dat files from the first instance folder into the second instance folder. Repeat step 4 and 5 for the second instance folder.
8.Now you can configure second uTorrent instance preferences the same way you did for the first one. Note that when you copy the files, both instances have exactly the same preferences set. If you want the second instance to use different settings you have to change them accordingly. Exit uTorrent when you are done.
9.Now you have two separate instances of uTorrent ready to roll. You can run them both at the same time using shortcuts you prepared earlier. If you want to have more instances running, repeat steps 7 and 8.
Important notes
•It is best for each instance to use different port. Make sure you have your ports forwarded correctly for each instance if you are behind a router. Using different port for each instance also allows you to access each of them via WebUI.
•Remember that upload limit is cumulative for all instances. Make sure that summed upload limit of all instances doesn’t go over 80% of your connection upload speed.
Creating instanced setup from already existing uTorrent installation

Please note that you need admin privileges to access that folder and that it is hidden so you need to show hidden files and folders to be able to see it.
